Clermont is located about 25 minutes from downtown Orlando and about 20 minutes to the Attractions, in the South Lake County of Florida and was once known as a huge citrus industry area. In the old days you could go up to the top of the Florida Citrus Tower, which is 226 feet high and located right on Highway 27 in Clermont, to take in the breath taking views of the thousands of acres of citrus groves amongst the rolling hills. The Clermont real estate has seen a big housing boom in the last seven years.
New subdivisions are being developed all the time as we see less and less of the citrus groves. Subdivisions for families like Sierra Vista and Skyview to name just two plus adult communities like Kings Ridge and Summit Greens in Clermont too. Who wouldn’t want to relocate to Clermont with its many parks, great fishing, and gorgeous lakes!
With the growing population in Clermont comes the need for convenience of shopping and dining out. If you’ve traveled down Highway 50 or Highway 27 lately you will have noticed all the new restaurants like Steak ‘n Shake, Ruby Tuesdays, Outback, Chili’s, Carrabas, Panera Bread, AW Root Beer (I wonder if they wear their roller skates when it’s raining out) and so many more new restaurants. As for shopping, on both Highway 50 and Highway 27 you will have also noticed the retail stores that have opened up with more on the way!
Clermont residences have the convenience of not only the major highways, Highway 50, Highway 27, and the Florida Turnpike but South Lake Hospital too. South Lake Hospital opened it 1947 and since then has added on extensively and right now is adding on another tower. The hospital is also home to the NTC, National Training Center, which is know the world over for its athletic facilities and performance programs.
